Manufacturing Engineer_Metal Castings and Forgings
Fictiv is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in casting tooling to join our team in Guangzhou, China. In this role, you will collaborate closely with both our clients and manufacturing partners to enhance our manufacturing processes. Your expertise will be pivotal in bridging the gap between design specifications and production capabilities, ensuring efficient and high-quality manufacturing outcomes.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include analyzing models, drawings, and parts lists to assess fabrication feasibility, cost, and lead times. You will generate accurate quotes for clients by combining your analyses with Fictiv's software recommendations and feedback from manufacturing partners. Additionally, you will provide design for manufacturability (DFM) feedback to clients, suggesting design modifications to align with tooling manufacturing limitations. Supporting the development of casting tooling platforms, such as tooling calculators and material databases, will also be part of your role. Furthermore, you will lead the transition of customer programs from prototype and low-volume production to high-volume casting tooling, including part redesign, material and process selection, tolerance optimization, and tooling architecture definition.
The ideal candidate will possess at least 10 years of experience in casting manufacturing, with a minimum of 6 years focused on gravity and die casting. Proficiency in NX/UG software for analyzing and modifying casting part designs is essential. Experience with Magma or similar software for metal mold flow analysis is preferred. A strong understanding of 2D drawings and GD&T is required. The ability to read, write, and speak English is advantageous. We value individuals who are earnest, responsible, possess team spirit, integrity, and honesty. Self-starters who manage time efficiently and enjoy sharing knowledge about manufacturing are highly desirable.
