The Manager, Strategic Communications at Hut 8 plays a central role in shaping and advancing the company's corporate narrative. This position is responsible for translating complex subjects, including energy markets, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and financial markets, into clear, compelling stories that resonate with key audiences such as media, investors, customers, and industry partners. Hut 8 is a leading innovator in building and operating large data centers for next-generation computing workloads, including AI, colocation, cloud services, and Bitcoin mining.
Key responsibilities include developing and refining Hut 8's corporate narrative across various communication channels, writing and editing high-impact materials like press releases and executive messaging, and partnering closely with senior leadership to develop thought leadership content. The role also involves building and maintaining strong relationships with influential reporters, leading proactive media outreach, translating complex technical topics into accessible language, coordinating cross-functional messaging, monitoring media coverage, and collaborating with external agencies and internal teams on strategic communications initiatives.
The ideal candidate possesses 5 to 7 years of experience in communications, media relations, journalism, or a related field, with exceptional writing and editing skills. Experience working with top-tier business, technology, and energy media outlets is essential, along with prior experience in developing executive communications and thought leadership for senior leaders. A strong understanding of newsroom operations, strategic thinking abilities, and a high level of professionalism and discretion are also required. A background in journalism, particularly at a business news outlet or respected industry publication, is highly valued.
