Manager, Software Engineering (Libraries)
As a Manager within Chainguard's Guarded Libraries product, you will lead the development of secure open-source software libraries. Your strategic guidance will ensure reliability, compliance, and continuous innovation across Chainguard Libraries, which power applications, services, and infrastructure for security-focused organizations.
In this role, you will provide vision and mentorship to a diverse engineering team, guiding technical direction and product strategy across various language ecosystems. You will oversee policies and quality standards, manage multiple projects, and enhance build and testing infrastructures to produce reproducible, auditable, and trusted library releases.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing and scaling technical teams, with experience in building or maintaining Linux operating systems, language ecosystems, open-source libraries, or security-focused ecosystems. A strong grasp of software security, language ecosystems such as Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript, and experience with cloud-native technologies and infrastructure is essential. A growth-minded commitment to helping engineers and organizations adapt and thrive as the technical landscape evolves is also important.
