Manager, Business and Legal Affairs Operations
As a Manager of Business and Legal Affairs Operations at Sony Music Entertainment, you will be an integral part of the Business & Legal Affairs Operations team, which collaborates across all U.S. labels. This team is responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and summarizing various contracts, including artist recording agreements, soundtrack agreements, distribution agreements, and joint venture agreements. Your role will involve ensuring that contract data is accurately entered into the Contract Summary System, providing essential information for internal departments.
Your primary responsibilities will include reviewing and summarizing agreements within the Contract Summary System to ensure timely and accurate data entry. You will manage digital clearances for U.S.-based artist agreements, track deliverables throughout contract terms, and update data as modifications occur. Additionally, you will oversee centralized U.S. talent rosters, participate in the analysis and testing of new IT systems and process improvements, perform ad hoc contractual research, and prepare contract summary reports across all labels.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience, with an MBA or JD strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications is essential, and knowledge of Oracle/PowerBuilder is a plus. You should be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate attention to detail, organization, and accuracy. A proactive mindset and creative problem-solving abilities are also important.
