Litigation Assistant
Morgan & Morgan is seeking a dedicated Litigation Assistant to join our Charleston, South Carolina office. This role involves close collaboration with a lead attorney and litigation paralegal, contributing to our mission of defending consumer rights. As part of our team, you'll play a vital role in managing daily operations and supporting legal proceedings.
Key responsibilities include performing administrative duties such as scheduling hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics. You'll maintain pleadings and discovery indexes, organize exhibits and legal documents, and implement administrative processes to enhance workflow efficiency. Additionally, you'll collect and examine evidence, draft and proofread legal documents, conduct legal research, manage client billing, and communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings and depositions.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, with an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or Paralegal Certificate preferred. Experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, first-party claims, or related practice areas is advantageous. A minimum of two years' experience as an administrative assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department is required. Candidates should be highly organized, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
