Legal Counsel (w/m/d)
Delivery Hero, a global leader in local delivery services, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their team in Austria. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support to the Austrian business, collaborating closely with the European Legal Team and other regional and central headquarters within the Delivery Hero Group.
As a Legal Counsel for Austria, you will serve as a strategic partner to the local management and other stakeholders, offering practical legal solutions across various areas, including consumer protection law, labor law, civil law, and contract law (B2B/B2C). You will work alongside regional and global colleagues to ensure consistent implementation of group-wide legal and governance standards. Additionally, you will support regional initiatives from legal review to implementation, develop legal frameworks and processes to ensure compliance with legal requirements, and play an active role in introducing system changes, shaping processes to meet legal requirements, and promoting awareness of compliance issues in operational business. Your role will also involve identifying, assessing, and resolving regulatory challenges that impact business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a fully qualified legal education with a successful completion of law studies. A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience post-graduation is required. Fluency in both German and English, both written and spoken, is essential. Experience in technology-driven industries, such as platform business, FMCG, logistics/last-mile delivery, or startups, is advantageous. The candidate should be a generalist, aiming to establish themselves as a versatile lawyer focusing on the Austrian business. A solution-oriented approach, analytical and pragmatic working style, and the ability to find well-founded solutions in a fast-paced environment are important. Strong organizational skills to bring order to complex contexts and create clear structures, even when they are not yet present, are necessary. A business-oriented mindset, understanding the role as a sparring partner for commercial and operational teams, and actively contributing to business success with legal expertise are key. Being a team player with clear communication, empathy in dealing with colleagues, and the ability to present legal content understandably to a non-legal audience are also important.
The position offers a gross annual salary starting from €67,000 (all-in), depending on qualifications and experience. The actual salary is negotiable. Additionally, you will receive a profit-sharing scheme in the form of a stock package.
