Legal Counsel, Parental Rights
Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) is seeking a dedicated Legal Counsel to join our Parental Rights team. This role focuses on defending and advancing parental rights through complex litigation, directly representing parents and their children. The position is available in Lansdowne, VA; Dallas, TX; and Scottsdale, AZ, and reports to the Senior Counsel, Director of the Center for Parental Rights.
As Legal Counsel, you will initiate and litigate complex lawsuits in support of parental rights, develop legal strategies and arguments, and produce high-quality legal documents such as briefs, motions, and memoranda. Your responsibilities will also include representing clients in court, conducting advanced legal research, managing discovery processes, and engaging with media regarding cases and issues. Additionally, you will advise allied attorneys, network with potential partners, and collaborate with the Development team on speaking engagements and events.
The ideal candidate holds a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and is licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. A strong commitment to defending parental rights and the mission of ADF is essential. Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills are required, along with the ability to manage complex litigation with minimal oversight.
