Legal Counsel APAC
Monks, a digital-first marketing and advertising services company, is seeking a mid-level Legal Counsel to join their Asia-Pacific (APAC) team in Melbourne, Australia. This role involves handling legal matters for creative production projects and international marketing campaigns across the APAC region.
The Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and reviewing various legal documents, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and third-party agreements. They will collaborate with internal teams and clients to negotiate commercial terms that align with company policies and objectives, while mitigating potential risks. Additionally, the role involves providing legal support on compliance and clearance matters for projects and campaigns in the APAC region, and working with the APAC legal team to develop and implement contract policies and commercial strategies to support business growth.
Candidates should have at least 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with some in-house counsel experience. A law degree and admission to practice in a qualified jurisdiction are required. Proficiency in English and Mandarin, both written and verbal, is essential. Experience in digital advertising, technology, content, and digital media, as well as knowledge of contract and commercial law, is highly desirable. Familiarity with privacy, intellectual property, human resources, and general corporate law is a plus.
