Legal Administrative Assistant
Wilson Elser, a prominent defense litigation law firm with over 1,400 attorneys across 46 offices nationwide, is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant for its Miami office. Key responsibilities include preparing and drafting legal filings, formatting documents, pulling exhibits, proofreading, and redacting as needed. The assistant will e-file court documents in various state and federal courts, open new matters, assist in processing case closures, and manage and organize legal documents. Additionally, the role involves coordinating and scheduling hearings, conferences, depositions, maintaining attorney calendars, and providing administrative support to attorneys and paralegals to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in defense litigation, with a preference for those with insurance defense experience. Experience in maritime and aviation law is advantageous, and trial experience is considered a plus. Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, including drafting and formatting pleadings, familiarity with state and federal court rules, and proficiency in e-filing requirements are essential. The candidate should possess excellent organizational and time management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
