Lead Product Designer (United States)
As a Lead Product Designer at Karat, you will spearhead major design initiatives that shape our product direction and user experience. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will establish design standards and patterns that elevate our entire design practice. Your strategic thinking will influence both immediate product decisions and the long-term design vision, ensuring alignment with Karat's mission to transform technical hiring processes.
In this role, you will lead and scale our design system, establishing governance, documentation, and adoption processes to ensure consistency and efficiency across all product touchpoints. Partnering with Product and Engineering leadership, you will integrate design thinking into organizational strategy and roadmap planning, influencing product decisions at the leadership level. Additionally, you will plan and execute strategic user research that informs product direction and business strategy, using data and analytics to measure design impact on business metrics.
The ideal candidate will have over seven years of professional experience as a Product Designer, with a demonstrated progression in scope and impact. A proven track record of driving major design initiatives that significantly impacted business outcomes is essential. Familiarity with leveraging AI, automation, and emerging technologies in design, including creating AI-driven features with awareness of ethical considerations, is highly desirable. Strong communication and presentation skills for senior leadership and executive teams are also required.
