Junior Employment Investigations Attorney
Axiom is seeking junior and mid-level Employment Investigations Attorneys to provide legal advice and support to clients across various industries. These attorneys will conduct workplace investigations, advise on employee relations issues, and assist organizations in navigating complex employment law challenges. This remote position offers the opportunity to collaborate with leading clients on sensitive workplace matters.
Key responsibilities include conducting and managing workplace investigations involving employee relations concerns, allegations of misconduct, fraud, workplace violence, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other employment-related matters. Attorneys will independently lead investigations from intake through resolution, including witness interviews, evidence review, fact-finding, and report preparation. They will provide legal guidance on employment law, workplace compliance, and employee relations matters, collaborating with client stakeholders, Human Resources teams, compliance professionals, and business leaders to address workplace concerns and implement appropriate corrective actions. Additionally, they will draft investigation plans, witness interview summaries, investigation reports, findings, and other related documentation, advising clients on compliance with applicable employment laws, workplace policies, and HIPAA requirements where relevant. Managing sensitive and confidential legal issues for clients across multiple industries and staying ahead of employment law developments, workplace investigation best practices, and regulatory changes are also essential aspects of the role.
Candidates should have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and an active U.S. state bar membership in their state of primary residence. A minimum of 2 years of experience counseling clients on employment and labor law issues, conducting investigations, drafting responses to administrative charges, handling reductions in force, and developing and implementing employment handbooks, policies, and procedures is required. Experience working independently and cross-functionally, taking on complex projects, and possessing excellent interpersonal skills are essential. An active bar license for the state in which the candidate resides is mandatory.
