Investment Engineer
Bridgewater Associates is seeking an Investment Engineer to join our team in New York City. In this role, you will design, build, and continuously evolve models and systems that transform macroeconomic and market understanding into systematic signals and portfolio construction decisions. Your responsibilities will include developing robust data pipelines, conducting research on high-dimensional datasets, and collaborating with senior investors and engineers to shape research agendas and system architecture.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for building data models and algorithmic systems that solve complex investment problems. Strong analytical and statistical modeling skills, proficiency in scripting or functional programming languages such as R or Python (Scala is a plus), and a deep interest in markets and finance are essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required.
Bridgewater offers a competitive compensation package, with a total compensation range of $225,000 to $450,000, inclusive of base salary and discretionary target bonus. The expected base salary is typically 50%–75% of this range, depending on team, level, and experience.
