Information Technology Technician
The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama is seeking an Information Technology Technician to provide technical support and assistance to court staff and judicial officers. This role involves delivering day-to-day IT support, training end users, and maintaining courtroom technology systems. The position reports to the IT Supervisor and is based in Birmingham, Alabama.
Key responsibilities include responding to help desk inquiries, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and installing and configuring computer systems and peripherals. The technician will also operate and maintain audio-visual equipment, assist with teleconferencing and videoconferencing, and support the installation and maintenance of courtroom and conference room AV systems. Additional duties involve performing routine system checks, supporting data backups and disaster recovery, and assisting with IT-related procurements and inventory management.
Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of specialized experience in areas such as IT helpdesk support, hardware and peripheral installation, and AV systems support. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for candidates holding a college degree. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and other common software applications.
The position offers a salary range of $49,858 to $81,074 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
