India Corporate Counsel (Employment & Compliance) - Bengaluru

Okta is seeking a strategic legal partner to manage and advise on employment and compliance issues in India. As the first India counsel for Okta, you will act as a trusted advisor providing practical, actionable solutions to enable business growth while mitigating risk in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment.

Key responsibilities include providing expert counsel on the full employee lifecycle, partnering with Okta’s legal ethics and compliance team on India-specific regulatory risks, drafting and maintaining employment templates, overseeing employment-related litigation, designing and delivering compliance training, and coordinating internal employment and compliance investigations.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of legal practice focusing on employment and compliance for multinational, public companies, an LLB from a BCI-recognized college, and an active certificate of practice to practice law in India. Deep knowledge of India’s labor laws and regulatory frameworks, high integrity, pragmatic problem-solving skills, and the ability to juggle multiple projects in a high-growth environment are essential.
