Head of Legal, Structured Investments & Annuities - Managing Director
iCapital is seeking a Head of Legal for Structured Investments and Annuities to join its senior Legal team. This role involves overseeing all legal and regulatory aspects of the firm's structured investments and annuities businesses, including strategic initiatives and daily operations. The position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Head of Legal will act as general counsel for the structured investments and annuities divisions, providing primary legal support for the firm's web-based platform, distribution channels, broker-dealer matters, strategic partnerships, and global expansion efforts. Key responsibilities include advising senior management, managing a team of attorneys, negotiating complex commercial agreements with product issuers and financial institutions, and modernizing internal legal processes to enhance efficiency and support organizational objectives.
Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in top-tier law firms and/or in-house roles at broker-dealers or financial technology firms, with a background in managing legal teams. A strong understanding of the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and FINRA regulations is essential. Experience with insurance regulations is advantageous. The role requires excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, a proactive approach to learning, and membership in good standing with the New York Bar or another state or jurisdiction.
The base salary for this position ranges from $200,000 to $220,000. iCapital offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes salary, equity for full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
