Head of Legal, Structured Investments & Annuities - Managing Director
iCapital is seeking a seasoned attorney to lead its Legal team as the Head of Legal for Structured Investments and Annuities. This Managing Director role involves overseeing all legal and regulatory aspects of the firm's structured investments and annuities businesses, including strategic initiatives and daily operations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior management and various business units to ensure compliance and support the firm's growth objectives.
Key responsibilities include acting as general counsel for the structured investments and annuities divisions, providing legal guidance on the firm's web-based platforms, distribution channels, broker-dealer matters, strategic partnerships, and global expansion efforts. The role also entails managing a team of attorneys, negotiating complex commercial agreements with product issuers and financial institutions, and driving the modernization of internal legal processes to enhance efficiency and align with company-wide goals.
Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house at a broker-dealer or financial technology firm, with a proven track record of managing legal teams. A strong understanding of the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and FINRA regulations is essential. Familiarity with insurance laws and regulations is advantageous. The role requires exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to navigate a dynamic business environment. Membership in good standing with the New York Bar or another state or jurisdiction is required.
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $250,000 to $275,000, complemented by equity participation and an annual performance bonus.
