Head of Knowledge
The Head of Knowledge and Practice Innovation at Gilbert + Tobin is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the firm's knowledge management strategy and operations. Reporting to the Partner and Chief Knowledge and Innovation Officer, this position oversees a team of Knowledge Lawyers and collaborates closely with practice groups to transform the firm's knowledge assets into strategic, AI-enabled capabilities.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing the firm's enterprise knowledge strategy in alignment with AI, client value, and productivity objectives. The role involves structuring, classifying, and governing legal knowledge to optimize AI retrieval, accuracy, and reuse. Additionally, the Head of Knowledge leads specific knowledge, innovation, and quality projects, requiring close collaboration with various departments such as IT, Risk, Marketing/BD, HR, and the Library.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in knowledge management, preferably within law practice or broader professional services. Strong communication and influencing skills, coupled with an innovative mindset and strategic thinking, are essential. Experience with knowledge management technologies, particularly Generative AI, is highly desirable. The role also demands strong people management and leadership abilities, project management experience, and excellent drafting and problem-solving skills.
