The Head of Knowledge and Practice Innovation at Gilbert + Tobin is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the firm's knowledge management strategy and operations. Reporting to the Partner and Chief Knowledge and Innovation Officer, this position oversees a team of Knowledge Lawyers and collaborates closely with Practice Group Knowledge Partners to transform the firm's knowledge assets into strategic, AI-enabled capabilities. The role is integral to aligning the firm's knowledge initiatives with its broader objectives in AI, client value, and productivity.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing the firm's enterprise knowledge strategy, structuring and governing legal knowledge to optimize AI retrieval and reuse, and managing knowledge, innovation, and quality projects in collaboration with various departments. The role also involves communicating knowledge and innovation initiatives across the firm, identifying opportunities to productize legal knowledge, supporting client-facing knowledge solutions, and leading a high-performing knowledge function.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in knowledge management within law practice or professional services, strong communication and influencing skills, and a strategic, innovative mindset. Experience with knowledge management technologies, particularly in Generative AI, strong people management and leadership abilities, project management experience, and excellent drafting and problem-solving skills are essential. The ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment and manage multiple tasks is also required.
