Key responsibilities include defining and operationalizing Red Cell's public sector growth strategy, particularly within the Department of War. The role involves proactive engagement with mission owners, program offices, and acquisition stakeholders to shape demand and identify opportunities before formal solicitations arise. The Head of Defense Growth will also prioritize opportunities across the portfolio, architect creative solutions by leveraging capabilities from multiple portfolio companies, and build a scalable business development engine that portfolio companies can integrate into.
The ideal candidate possesses 12–20+ years of private sector experience selling to the public sector, with a focus on defense or national security. They should have a proven track record of owning the full lifecycle from early engagement through capture, award, and post-award expansion, with at least $100M+ in cumulative contract value. The role requires a creative problem-solver comfortable with ambiguity, capable of making decisive calls, and accountable for outcomes.
