Group General Counsel
VSA Partners is seeking a Group General Counsel to lead the legal function across Meet The People's North American operations. This fully remote role involves serving as the primary legal advisor to executive leadership and boards across multiple companies in the United States and Canada. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, supporting a diverse portfolio of agencies specializing in brand strategy, media, analytics, and retail execution.
The Group General Counsel will oversee all legal matters, including commercial contracting, corporate governance, employment law, litigation management, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, data protection, and risk management. Key responsibilities involve managing a high volume of concurrent legal matters, leading commercial contracting activities, supporting client engagements, overseeing employment-related legal issues, managing litigation and disputes, advising on corporate governance, and leading data privacy and cybersecurity initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing of a state bar in the United States or Canada. A minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience is required, with at least 5 years in a senior in-house counsel role. Experience in the marketing, advertising, or media industries is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a pragmatic, business-oriented approach to legal problem-solving.
