Fintech Payments Lawyer
Axiom is seeking a Fintech Payments Lawyer to collaborate with clients across various industries, focusing on financial services and technology sectors. This role is based in London, UK, and offers the flexibility to work remotely, onsite, or in a hybrid arrangement, depending on client needs.
The primary responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements such as partnership, supply, referral, reseller, and technology service contracts. The lawyer will advise on regulatory compliance for financial services and technology transactions, identifying and addressing potential issues across multiple jurisdictions. Additional duties involve supporting SaaS, Cloud, and tech-related deals, ensuring contractual terms align with data protection, operational resilience, and service-level requirements. Collaboration with stakeholders to structure agreements that balance commercial objectives with regulatory obligations and risk mitigation strategies is also essential. Monitoring and interpreting regulatory developments in the UK, EU, and globally, particularly those impacting outsourcing, digital transformation, and cross-border service delivery, is a key aspect of the role.
Candidates should possess a strong academic background and be eligible to practice as a UK Solicitor or hold an equivalent overseas qualification with relevant UK experience. A proven ability to manage complex commercial contracting, including drafting and negotiating agreements for technology and financial services, is required. Expertise in SaaS, Cloud, and financial services regulatory frameworks, including data governance and operational resilience, is essential. Experience in providing practical, business-oriented advice to internal stakeholders under time-sensitive conditions is necessary. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on delivering commercially viable and compliant solutions, are crucial.
