Equity Quantitative Research Associate
The Equity Quantitative Research Associate at Bridgewater Associates is a key member of the Asia Strategies department, focusing on systematic macro and long/short equity strategies in the APAC region. This role involves collaborating closely with portfolio managers in a dynamic environment, contributing to the firm's mission of delivering unique insights to global institutional investors.
Key responsibilities include driving the end-to-end research process, encompassing idea generation, data modeling, research and analysis, implementation, and industrialization. The associate will continuously evolve systematic oversight processes to understand drivers of risk and return, generate ideas to improve existing signals, and contribute to discretionary trades and portfolio overlays. Additionally, the role involves identifying and assessing new datasets, implementing the latest developments in academic research, and experimenting with new technologies to enhance the investment process.
Candidates should possess 1-4 years of experience in quantitative research at a hedge fund, asset manager, or bank, with a preference for experience in systematic equities. Strong mathematical and statistical modeling skills, proficiency in Python or R, and experience with SQL and Snowflake are essential. A willingness to adapt to a Scala-driven production stack and a desire to work with new development technologies are also important. Experience with large, diverse datasets, factor models, and familiarity with trading in Asian markets are advantageous.
