Enterprise Business Development Representative - West
Chainguard is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Enterprise Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team. This role focuses on engaging with security and engineering teams who prioritize supply chain security, open source, and modern infrastructure. As a BDR, you will collaborate closely with enterprise Account Executives to penetrate high-value accounts and build a pipeline that effectively converts prospects into clients.
In this position, your primary responsibilities include developing enterprise account strategies by mapping target accounts and identifying key entry points across security, platform, and engineering teams. You will craft personalized outreach that resonates with developers, DevOps, and security leaders, avoiding generic sequences. Additionally, you will research how companies build and deploy software, such as containers, CI/CD, and cloud environments, to ensure your outreach is relevant and credible. Leading meaningful early conversations to qualify opportunities by understanding technical contexts, risk postures, and business priorities is also a key aspect of this role.
The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience as a BDR or SDR, preferably working with mid-market or enterprise accounts. A proven ability to generate pipeline through outbound efforts, not just inbound qualification, is essential. Experience engaging multiple stakeholders within technical or complex organizations, strong writing skills for crafting personalized outreach, and a curiosity to learn about modern software and security practices are highly valued. Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Outreach, or Salesloft, and a track record of meeting or exceeding pipeline targets are also important qualifications.
Compensation for this role is $100,000 on-target earnings (OTE). Benefits include a flexible and remote-first culture with team meetup opportunities, bi-annual destination summits, and a monthly stipend for coworking spaces, phone, and internet costs. Employees receive stock options upon hire and promotion, with the opportunity to participate in secondary offerings and a 10-year window to exercise options. Health, vision, and dental insurance premiums are 100% covered for employees and their dependents. The company offers flexible time off to ensure employees can recharge and reset, as well as 18 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, with the option to use it all at once or throughout the child's first year.

If your experience aligns closely with our requirements, we encourage you to apply and join us in our mission to be the safe source for open source.
