Enterprise Account Executive- Education
Smartsheet is seeking an experienced sales professional to join our team as an Enterprise Account Executive. This role focuses on developing customer accounts within the Higher Education sector, covering the Central Region, including Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Western Canada. The position reports to a Regional Director, Enterprise EDU, and is ideal for individuals located within the Central Region.
The Enterprise Account Executive will navigate complex procurement processes and cycles within higher education institutions and school districts. Key responsibilities include identifying and engaging stakeholders such as executive leadership, IT, academic, and administrative teams. The role involves understanding and responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs), building and maintaining strong relationships with CIOs, IT Directors, Procurement Officers, and other key stakeholders. Additionally, the executive will travel onsite to key customers for executive presentations, user group presentations, and industry-specific events.
Candidates should have over seven years of full-cycle sales experience in a technology-oriented field, with SaaS experience highly preferred. A proven track record of success selling into state and local governments, K-12, or higher education institutions is essential. Experience with RFPs, procurement cycles, and government contracting vehicles (e.g., NASPO, GSA, DIR) is required. The role also demands strong relationship management skills, the ability to manage strategic interactions with senior-level management, and proficiency with CRM software packages and Google Suite.
Smartsheet offers a competitive base salary range of $90,000 to $185,000 USD, with actual compensation determined by factors such as professional experience, education, skills, and location.
