Enrolled Actuary, (Cash Balance Actuaries)
Cash Balance Actuaries (CBA), an operating partner of Strongpoint Partners, is seeking an experienced Enrolled Actuary to join their team. CBA specializes in designing and administering flexible cash balance plans tailored to the unique needs of small to mid-sized businesses. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work from anywhere within the United States, providing a flexible work environment.
The Enrolled Actuary will be responsible for performing and reviewing actuarial valuations for Defined Benefit and Cash Balance plans, ensuring compliance with IRS laws and regulations. Key duties include preparing and reviewing annual non-discrimination testing, PBGC filings, FASB reports, and government form filings such as IRS and DOL Form 5500 and Schedule SB. The role also involves certifying contribution and asset amounts for AFTAP, preparing distribution packages, and consulting on plan terminations and audits.
Candidates must have at least five years of relevant small plan actuarial experience and hold the Enrolled Actuary designation. A thorough understanding of business entities as they relate to plan compensation and design is essential. Proficiency in non-discrimination testing, knowledge of Defined Benefit and Cash Balance actuarial valuation reports, and familiarity with PBGC filing requirements are required. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also important.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $120,000 or more annually, with compensation commensurate with experience and ability. High performers will be rewarded through a pay structure that includes a base salary plus quarterly and annual bonuses. The total compensation package also includes a comprehensive benefits program.
