Engineering Team Leader
Remote is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers, encompassing both backend and frontend disciplines. This role involves overseeing team dynamics, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring optimized execution of projects. The Team Leader will act as the primary spokesperson for the team, guiding them towards achieving company objectives.
Key responsibilities include dedicating approximately 30% of time to management tasks, with the remainder focused on active participation in product development. The role involves involvement in the hiring and onboarding processes for new engineers, providing continuous and constructive feedback, and supporting the professional growth of team members. Additionally, the Team Leader will be responsible for redesigning engineering workflows to incorporate autonomous agents, proposing and implementing agentic workflows, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of results through verification loops.
Candidates must have experience managing an engineering team of at least two people and possess extensive experience with backend technologies such as Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming. A strong commitment to promoting the company's values, solid engineering fundamentals, and a proven track record of delivering secure, reliable, and scalable production systems are essential. Practical experience with agentic or automation workflows, strong communication skills, and a focus on efficient, people-first processes are also required.
The annual salary range for this full-time position is $75,450 to $169,700 USD.
