Director, Supply Chain
The Director of Supply Chain at Hut 8 is responsible for designing, leading, and optimizing a fully integrated supply chain to support the rapid delivery of large-scale data center infrastructure. This role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of mechanical and electrical equipment, from defining specifications and evaluating build-buy-partner options to sourcing, contracting, and ensuring on-time delivery of long-lead, power-intensive components. The Director will shape early engineering and design decisions, build strategic supplier and manufacturer partnerships, and develop standards that improve constructability, cost, and schedule performance across projects.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the full lifecycle of mechanical and electrical equipment, influencing design and engineering decisions by bringing supply chain and equipment insights early into the process, evaluating components for in-house production versus outsourcing, identifying opportunities for vertical integration or strategic partnerships, reviewing designs for constructability, availability, lead times, and total cost, working with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure they meet technical standards and timelines, developing and maintaining equipment standards, documentation, and qualification processes, designing efficient logistics, material flow, and inventory plans that support fast build schedules, troubleshooting supply chain risks and equipment bottlenecks before they impact the field, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure builds stay on schedule.
The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in supply chain, engineering, cost estimating, or procurement for data center, industrial, or infrastructure projects. A bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, or related field) is required. Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical equipment, ideally including components such as transformers, switchgear, chillers, HVAC systems, and related infrastructure equipment, is essential. Experience in procurement or supply chain functions, especially in sourcing technical equipment or working with manufacturers, is also required. The candidate should possess a builder’s mindset, strong problem-solving skills, clear communication abilities, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.
