Data Protection Officer

The Data Protection Officer (DPO) at HungerStation, a subsidiary of Delivery Hero, is responsible for overseeing data protection compliance in alignment with Saudi Arabian laws and global standards. This role involves collaborating with senior management, legal, and cybersecurity teams to implement data protection and AI compliance programs. The DPO serves as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, including the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), and ensures the organization maintains a privacy-oriented culture.

Key responsibilities include leading HungerStation's data governance program, focusing on data classification and enabling data subject rights. The DPO monitors and updates records of personal data processing activities, supports business and operational teams on data protection matters, and conducts privacy assessments and audits in line with the Personal Data Protection Law of Saudi Arabia (PDPL). Additionally, the role involves internal and external reporting of compliance KPIs, developing policies and procedures related to personal data protection, and participating in training and awareness activities.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Law or an equivalent qualification, with over three years of experience in data protection, preferably within a regulated entity in Saudi Arabia or the MENA region. Certifications such as IAPP CIPP, S-CDPO, or CISSP are advantageous. A deep understanding of the interplay between law and technology, experience in managing privacy projects, and strong negotiation skills with supervisory authorities are essential. Fluency in both Arabic and English, written and spoken, is required.
