Data Associate
The Data Associate role at Bridgewater Associates involves owning and deeply understanding the data and logic used to build the firm's systematic trading systems. This position is part of the Signal Implementation group within the research team, which is responsible for managing the data that flows into Bridgewater's trading systems and the logic applied to it. Key responsibilities include understanding investment data concepts, such as pricing, macroeconomic indicators, fundamentals, and alternative data. Additionally, the role involves continuously evolving data concepts by improving logic or technical definitions, contributing directly to enhancing Bridgewater's investment logic. Collaboration with partners in analytics, engineering, and technology is essential to address data quality, architectural, or logic issues.
Candidates should possess a four-year degree from an accredited undergraduate institution and have 2-4 years of relevant experience in data. A strong working knowledge of financial data sources, such as Bloomberg and Refinitiv, is required, along with experience working with time-series data and security master data. Familiarity with data modeling, data pipelines, and cloud-based data solutions like Snowflake and AWS is also necessary. Proficiency in at least one programming language and strong analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is between $120,000 and $150,000, with additional variable compensation in the form of a discretionary target bonus.
