Customer Support Engineer
The Customer Support Engineer at Fictiv is responsible for promoting sales of Misumi products through various customer support channels, including email, chat, and phone. This role involves providing technical support, conducting application work, and managing special engineering-related projects as needed. Fictiv is a global manufacturing and supply chain company that enables organizations to scale across its four global manufacturing centers in India, Mexico, China, and the U.S., delivering over 35 million parts to industries such as aerospace, robotics, automotive, and climate tech.
Key responsibilities include promoting and educating customers—such as design engineers, mechanical engineers, and buyers—on products and services to increase sales. The engineer will perform technical presentations to design engineering groups, provide product and design support to enhance customer designs, and collaborate with the sales team to achieve growth goals. Additionally, the role involves providing technical design support internally and externally on product specifications, handling large and custom quoting opportunities, ensuring quality compliance, and maintaining product databases and website content for accuracy.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred) and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment, excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills, proficiency in 3D CAD and Microsoft Office applications, and strong verbal and written communication abilities. The candidate should be highly motivated, responsible, and results-oriented.
The position offers a salary range of $65,000 to $80,000 per year, based upon experience. The role is based in Schaumburg, IL, with the ability to travel less than 10% of the time for offsite customer visits, trade shows, and related activities.
