Assured Guaranty is seeking a seasoned transactional lawyer to join its New York team as Counsel, Corporate. This role involves providing legal advice and assistance on U.S. and international corporate transactions, working closely with a team of highly experienced transactional lawyers.

The Counsel will support deal origination teams in structuring, negotiating, and documenting corporate transactions. Responsibilities include collaborating with credit teams to identify and address credit-related issues, assisting surveillance teams with ongoing monitoring of closed transactions, and managing external legal support effectively.

Candidates should have at least six years of experience in a leading financial services law firm, with strong expertise in complex corporate transactions. Excellent academic qualifications, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to prioritize issues and manage outside counsel are essential. A proactive, organized self-starter who can work independently while seeking input from legal and credit colleagues is ideal.

The annual base salary for this position is expected to range from $260,000 to $280,000, depending on experience and credentials. The role also offers employee benefits, eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus, and long-term incentive awards.
