Consumer Banking Lawyer
Axiom is seeking a Consumer Banking Lawyer to join its team in London, focusing on retail banking and consumer finance matters. The role involves providing legal counsel on consumer financial products, regulatory compliance, and product development. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with retail banks, credit card issuers, and other financial institutions to deliver commercially focused solutions across consumer banking operations.
Key responsibilities include advising on consumer banking and consumer finance matters, such as loans, credit cards, mortgages, and buy now, pay later (BNPL) arrangements. The role also involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating consumer finance agreements, product terms and conditions, customer documentation, and related disclosures. Additionally, the lawyer will support clients in developing and launching retail banking and consumer financial products, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and consumer protection requirements.
Candidates should be qualified lawyers eligible to practice in the UK with the right to work in the UK. They should have demonstrated experience advising on consumer banking, consumer credit, or retail financial services regulation. Experience in drafting and advising on consumer finance documentation, including loan agreements, credit agreements, and consumer terms and conditions, is essential. Strong commercial awareness, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to deliver pragmatic, business-focused legal advice in a regulated environment are also required.
