Consultant, Marketing Technology
NATIONAL, a full-service marketing and communications agency with nine offices across Canada, is seeking a Consultant, Marketing Technology to join their digital strategy team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This role focuses on planning and delivering measurable, connected, and performance-driven digital communications initiatives. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, tech-savvy professional who thrives on collaboration and enjoys using digital tools to solve complex marketing challenges.
Key responsibilities include supporting the planning and execution of integrated marketing and communications strategies with an emphasis on measurement, discoverability, and reporting. The consultant will manage dashboards, tagging, tracking, and performance reporting for client campaigns, conduct SEO audits and keyword research to support content development and channel strategy, and analyze landing page performance to identify drop-off points and recommend adjustments to improve user flow and lead capture. Collaboration with marketing, web, and media teams is essential to ensure campaigns are measurable from the start. Additionally, the role involves assisting with CRM strategy and audience segmentation to enhance targeting and personalization, piloting new tools, recommending process improvements to enhance digital marketing workflows, and supporting proposal writing, audits, and opportunity scoping with insights on platform capabilities and measurement strategy.
Candidates should have 4-6 years of experience in digital marketing, marketing operations, or a related field, with agency experience considered an asset. Hands-on experience with analytics tools (GA4, Search Console, Tag Manager, Bing Webmaster Tools), data visualization platforms (Looker Studio, Power BI), SEO tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog), CRO tools, and CRM and marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp) is required. Proficiency with UTM structures, campaign tagging, and performance reporting is essential. The role demands the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make actionable recommendations, along with strong communication skills to simplify technical concepts for non-technical teams. A desire to experiment with and share knowledge on emerging marketing technologies, such as AI search and workflow automation, is also important.
