Construction Attorney
General Matter is seeking a Construction Attorney to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. As the primary in-house construction attorney, you will play a pivotal role in managing legal risks associated with the company's extensive construction projects across multiple states. This position offers substantial responsibility and autonomy, with direct interaction with business leadership and on-site managers.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing construction legal risks, advising on contract negotiations and compliance, managing dispute resolutions including litigation, and coordinating with various departments to meet ambitious construction timelines. Additionally, you will draft and review leases and commercial contracts, and assist the General Counsel with other legal matters as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and over five years of legal experience, including clerkships, with substantial expertise in construction law. A willingness to work extended hours and weekends is required. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Los Angeles, CA; hybrid and remote work options are not available.
The base salary for this role ranges from $150,000 to $230,000 annually, depending on experience. In addition to the base salary, full-time employees are eligible for long-term incentives, such as stock options, and have access to medical, vision, and dental coverage, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
