Experian is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Cloud Center of Excellence. This role is pivotal in building the foundation of our next-generation cloud services modular platform, enabling scalable, resilient, and automated cloud infrastructure that supports our engineering teams and accelerates business innovation.
As a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer, you will design and implement modular cloud components using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation frameworks, and reusable templates. Collaborating with platform architects and application teams, you will ensure our cloud services are loosely coupled, stateless, and aligned with cloud-native principles. Your work will directly enhance our ability to deliver faster, more reliable, and cost-effective solutions across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Key responsibilities include architecting and maintaining modular cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, and Python. You will automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes to reduce manual effort and improve consistency. Developing reusable code libraries and service templates to standardize platform capabilities across teams and environments is also essential. Additionally, you will implement governance, observability, and compliance controls through automated policies and service interfaces, and design and develop RESTful APIs and service interfaces for platform capabilities, ensuring scalability and security.
The ideal candidate will have experience with public cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. A strong background in automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices is required, along with a deep understanding of modular architecture, service interfaces, and cloud-native design patterns. Extensive hands-on professional experience writing production Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation and Terraform is essential. Proficiency in automation and scripting using Ansible, Python, and AWS/Azure SDKs and CLIs is also necessary. A background in Linux/Unix and/or Windows administration, understanding of Authentication & Authorization Services, Identity & Access Management, and knowledge of AWS/Azure Cloud Networking and core Internet Protocols are important. Additionally, 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure projects with hands-on migration expertise on public clouds such as AWS and Azure is required.
