Channel Sales Engineer - Security, AI
Tenable, Inc. is seeking a Channel Sales Engineer specializing in Security and AI to join their southeast regional channel team. This role is pivotal in empowering partners to build resilient security architectures and act as technical champions for Tenable's security platform. The position is available in multiple locations, including Columbia, MD, and Atlanta, GA, with a hybrid work model and travel requirements of up to 30-50%.
In this role, you will conduct technical training sessions and workshops to certify partner engineers, focusing on areas such as OT/IoT security, Cloud Security (CNAPP), and Identity Exposure. You will assist partners in high-stakes discovery calls and demos, oversee the technical execution of Proof of Value (PoV) and Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements, and consult with regional partners to design security workflows that integrate with existing customer stacks like SIEM, SOAR, and Ticketing tools. Additionally, you will lead technical discussions on proactive security, including vulnerability assessments, risk prioritization, and attack surface management.
Candidates should have over five years of experience in Sales Engineering, Partner Engineering, or Technical Consulting within the cybersecurity industry, along with a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field. A deep understanding of the Cyber Exposure Lifecycle, Zero Trust architecture, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework is essential. Hands-on experience with cloud security for AWS, Azure, or GCP, including container security (Docker/Kubernetes) and infrastructure misconfigurations, is required. Knowledge of AI-driven threat detection and experience leveraging Generative AI or LLMs to automate security reporting, script generation (e.g., Python, Bash), and orchestration are also necessary. Proficiency in packet analysis, firewall configuration, and navigating complex VLAN/segmented environments is expected. Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, CEH, or platform-specific certifications like AWS Certified Security Specialty.
The compensation for this role ranges from $114,500 to $152,500 per year, with additional variable compensation based on performance.
