Billing Coordinator
Wilson Elser, a leading defense litigation law firm with over 1,400 attorneys across 46 offices in the United States, is seeking a Billing Coordinator for their White Plains, NY office. The Billing Coordinator will support all billing operations within the firm, utilizing accounting and payables software to perform various duties. Responsibilities include ensuring tasks are completed within the firm's guidelines and policies, communicating with claims examiners and clients regarding billing inquiries, and researching and responding to inquiries from attorneys and support staff. The role also involves reviewing and editing pre-bills, executing complex bills (e.g., multiple discounts, split-party billing, electronic bills), creating and verifying the accuracy of client invoices, and assisting with e-billing processes. Additional duties encompass reviewing and analyzing rejected invoices, recording and tracking retainer funds, processing write-offs per firm policy, and assisting with the creation and distribution of various reports.
Candidates should have experience with Aderant, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of bookkeeping procedures, including posting, balancing, debits/credits, and journal entries, are essential. A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and the ability to perform mathematical functions are required. Familiarity with iManage document management software, e-billing middleware sites, and the AS400 system is advantageous but not mandatory. A college degree with relevant internship or work experience is preferred.
The position offers a salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 USD, commensurate with experience.
