Associate - Billing (O2C)
The Associate - Billing (O2C) role at Clifford Chance Amsterdam is integral to the firm's financial operations, focusing on the end-to-end management of billing and collections. This position ensures accurate, timely, and compliant invoicing, as well as effective recovery of receivables. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with partners, fee earners, secretarial teams, local office finance teams, and regional stakeholders to support matter billing, client collections, and stakeholder query resolution.
Key responsibilities include managing all aspects of the billing process, such as narrative review, time adjustments, pre-bill generation, draft review, and finalization of bills. The role also involves ensuring billing accuracy through quality assurance, data reconciliation, and adherence to service level agreements. Additionally, the associate will handle client follow-ups, resolve queries, maintain debtor summaries, analyze bad debts, and implement improvements to accelerate cash collection and reduce lock-ups. Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with operational and control standards are also essential duties.
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of relevant experience in billing and collections or accounts receivables, along with a commerce degree. Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment is required. Strong oral and written communication skills, a proactive and energetic approach, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential. The candidate should be driven to achieve targets, resilient under pressure, and capable of quickly adapting to unforeseen work demands. Experience in handling queries, working with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines is also important.
