Tyson & Mendes LLP is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their New York City office. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic team at a nationally recognized litigation firm specializing in insurance defense. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for developing compelling case strategies, managing court appearances, conducting depositions, engaging in motion practice, and participating in trials. Collaboration with attorneys and staff at all experience levels is essential, as is maintaining consistent and professional communication with clients. Additionally, the role involves mentoring junior attorneys and contributing to the team's overall growth and success.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and hold an active bar license in the state of New York. The firm seeks individuals with 1–8 years of solid litigation experience, including case strategy, depositions, and trial preparation. The ability to independently manage a full caseload from discovery through trial is crucial. Prior experience in insurance defense is preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities are also required.

The base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Attorneys are eligible for an annual billable hours bonus ranging from $10,000, with additional tiers aggregating with $7,500 each. Comprehensive benefits coverage is offered, including plans available at zero employee cost. Employees benefit from a 401(k) program with a 100% match on the first 3% contributed and a 50% match on the following 4-5%.
