Application Engineer - III
Vanguard is seeking an experienced Application Engineer – III to join their Data & AI Defense Office, focusing on the Data De‑Identification Team. This role is based in Malvern, PA, and operates under a hybrid work model. The team is dedicated to developing applications and integrations that enhance enterprise data protection, particularly in the realms of AI and privacy. In this role, the Application Engineer will be responsible for system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases. Key tasks include translating technical specifications into code for complex projects, writing programs, developing code, testing artifacts, and producing reports. The engineer will also integrate third-party products, elevate code into various environments, and provide production support. Additionally, the role involves mentoring less experienced staff and participating in design, code, and test inspections throughout the software development lifecycle.
Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of related work experience, with at least one year in development. An undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with AWS services, including CloudFormation, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, Glue ETL, API Gateway, IAM, SQS, SNS, Athena, DMS, and DataSync, are essential. A solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases is also necessary.
