AI Data Center Technician II - Highrise.ai
Hut 8 is seeking a Data Center Technician II to join the Highrise AI team, operating GPU clusters that power next-generation AI technologies. This role involves working directly with NVIDIA H100, H200, and B300 GPU clusters, alongside high-speed networking infrastructure, to support AI companies developing cutting-edge technologies. The position is based onsite at the data center in Newport, Washington.
Key responsibilities include performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on NVIDIA GPUs and multi-node GPU clusters, monitoring cluster health, and responding promptly to hardware failures to maximize uptime. The technician will also deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed InfiniBand and Ethernet fabric, apply knowledge of InfiniBand topology across multi-rack GPU cluster environments, and support IP addressing, subnetting, and network diagnostics. Additional duties involve working in Linux environments for system monitoring and hardware management, using data analysis to identify failure patterns, assisting with firmware updates, and maintaining a clean and organized data center environment.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with technical certifications being a plus. A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in IT/computer hardware, AI GPU maintenance, systems/electrical engineering, or network administration is required. Hands-on experience with NVIDIA GPU hardware (H100, H200, or similar) is strongly preferred, along with familiarity with InfiniBand networking and high-speed fabric topology. Proficiency in Linux environments, a solid understanding of IP addressing and subnetting, and strong problem-solving skills are essential. The role requires the ability to be on one's feet for over seven hours per day and lift/carry 30–50 lbs.
