ACCOUNT ASSISTANT Remote

In this role, you will support accounting operations for a portfolio of multifamily real estate assets by assisting with financial statement reviews, bank reconciliations, and reporting and billing processes. Responsibilities include:
• Reviewing monthly financial statements from third-party property management companies for accuracy and completeness, providing feedback, and ensuring error resolution
• Performing monthly bank reconciliations for corporate and property-level development entities
• Assisting with accounts payable processing, including invoice coding and payment tracking
• Preparing monthly financial reports for corporate entities, including posting journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts
• Running monthly financial and operational reports from the accounting system (Realpage)
• Supporting preparation and reconciliation of property chargeback billings
• Maintaining organized digital and physical accounting records
• Assisting with audit requests, budget tracking, and various ad hoc financial projects
• Providing documentation for external audits and tax returns, and coordinating with preparers
• Supporting the accounting team with additional tasks as needed
Skills and qualifications:
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting, real estate accounting, or corporate accounting
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently, identify issues, and resolve errors efficiently
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Technical knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
