VP of Robotic Foundation Model
As the Vice President of Robotic Foundation Model at Telexistence Inc., you will lead the strategy, organization, and technical execution of our robotics foundation model team. This pivotal role involves building and managing a team dedicated to advancing multimodal AI technology into robust, production-grade capabilities for real-world robots. You will define the roadmap for our robotic foundation model efforts, guide the end-to-end pipeline from teleoperation data to on-robot deployment, and ensure the delivery of models that are reliable, scalable, and effective in operational environments.
Key responsibilities include building, leading, and growing the robotics foundation model team through hiring, mentoring, and performance management. You will define the team roadmap, set priorities, allocate resources, and drive execution toward critical business milestones. Collaborating with Robotics, Teleoperation, Hardware, Controls, Infrastructure, and Product teams, you will align technical work with product and operational goals. Additionally, you will establish strong execution standards across planning, experiment review, quality, reproducibility, and deployment readiness.
The role requires deep expertise in designing, training, and evaluating large-scale multimodal models, such as vision-language-action systems. A strong understanding of modern training paradigms, model scaling, fine-tuning, representation learning, and inference optimization is essential. Experience integrating AI/ML systems with physical robots under real-world operational constraints is crucial, along with familiarity with robotics software stacks, robot sensing, action representation, and the practicalities of deploying learned systems on hardware. Proficiency with robotics middleware such as ROS1/2 and embedded or edge AI deployment platforms like Jetson is also required.
