As the Vice President of Engineering, you will lead a team dedicated to building and shipping high-quality products that enhance the customer experience. This role involves hiring and managing a world-class engineering team, allocating resources to high-impact tasks, and ensuring the successful delivery of product commitments.

In this position, you will be responsible for leading a team that builds products quickly, ships them frequently, and maintains a high-quality customer experience. You will build, manage, and structure the team to address current development needs and future product complexity. Additionally, you will architect systems across the engineering function to drive results, ensuring the team has the context, vision, skills, and processes needed for success.

The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience managing an engineering organization at a high-growth company. Experience building remote-only companies with both full-time teammates and third-party contractors is essential. You should have a consistent track record of delivering high-quality software through coordinating a distributed team, along with deep experience in recruiting, hiring, coaching, mentoring, evaluating, and promoting team members. Strong communication skills and experience working with stakeholders across the organization are also required.

Counterpart offers unlimited vacation, allowing you to take time when needed. As a fully distributed company, employees can work from anywhere, with in-person meetings a couple of times per year. Additional benefits include stock options, health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, parental leave, a home office allowance, a book stipend, professional development reimbursement, and charitable contribution matching.

The company values include aligning expectations, speaking boldly and honestly, being entrepreneurial, practicing selfless hospitality, holding nothing as sacred, and prioritizing wellness.
