Vice President, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships
Flex, a growth-stage FinTech company headquartered in New York City, is revolutionizing the rent payment experience by enabling users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that aligns with their finances and budget. The company is seeking a Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships to source, close, and launch high-impact strategic partnerships that drive revenue and customer acquisition. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships and involves close collaboration with leadership and cross-functional teams to advance Flex's commercial growth initiatives.
The Vice President will own the full partner sales cycle, including prospecting, outreach, qualification, value mapping, business case development, financial modeling, contract negotiation, and go-to-market execution. Responsibilities include developing custom value propositions, leading complex commercial negotiations, collaborating with internal teams to design high-impact integrations, building repeatable playbooks for new partner categories, and reporting on pipeline health and strategic priorities at the executive level.
Candidates should have 10-12+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, enterprise sales, or corporate development, preferably within fintech, SaaS, or platform technology companies. A proven track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals with significant revenue impact is essential. The ideal candidate will possess strong consultative relationship-building skills, commercial creativity combined with financial rigor, the ability to thrive in high-velocity environments, and excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
Flex offers a market-based compensation approach, ensuring pay aligns with experience and internal guidelines. For candidates in Tier 1 markets (NYC/SF), the on-target earnings (OTE) range for this role is $336,000 - $420,000 USD. For other U.S. locations, compensation is adjusted based on geographic pay differentials.
