Vice President, Associate General Counsel, Commercial Legal
The Vice President, Associate General Counsel, Commercial Legal at Okta is a pivotal leadership role responsible for scaling and leading the company's global commercial legal team. Key responsibilities include leading, developing, coaching, and mentoring Okta's global team of high-performing commercial attorneys and legal professionals. The role also involves providing executive-level negotiating expertise on various agreements, such as SaaS master subscription agreements, AI commercial matters, professional services agreements, and reseller and distributor agreements. Additionally, the position requires evolving the delivery of legal services to be data-driven, ensuring that legal advice is efficient and aligned with Okta's risk tolerance.
Candidates should have over 15 years of relevant experience as a practicing attorney, including at least 7 years in-house, with a proven track record of building and managing legal teams. Experience in negotiating and drafting enterprise-level SaaS agreements is essential. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to translate complex global legal issues into clear guidance, communicate effectively with non-legal colleagues, and support innovation across the business. A Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and membership in good standing of at least one state Bar are required.
The compensation for this role ranges from $322,000 to $443,000 annually, reflecting the seniority and responsibilities of the position.
