Treasury Manager (based in South Africa)
The Treasury Manager role at EBANX is a pivotal position within the company's Treasury team, focusing on building and managing the financial infrastructure that enables global businesses to thrive in emerging markets. Based in Johannesburg, this role is integral to EBANX's mission of expanding access to payments and technology across 29 countries. The Treasury team bridges the gap between complex local regulations and seamless global settlements, ensuring that EBANX's platform connects leading global companies to over a billion consumers.
In this position, the Treasury Manager will lead the African team to ensure the execution of daily operations across various markets. Responsibilities include implementing efficient currency exchange flows from local African currencies to USD, aligning with headquarters to execute the global FX strategy, and establishing relationships with banks, payment providers, and currency exchangers in the Africa and MENA regions. The role also involves partnering with Commercial and Country Growth teams to structure complex deals, providing technical expertise in FX and liquidity, and identifying innovative treasury solutions to enhance EBANX's offerings.
Candidates should possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in Treasury or Financial Markets, with a focus on the African landscape, including countries like South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Egypt. A robust understanding of FX operations and liquidity management in markets with exchange controls and currency volatility is essential. The role requires the ability to translate complex treasury solutions into commercial value, support sales teams in structuring deals, and manage relationships with Tier-1 banks and liquidity providers in Africa. Experience in leading remote teams and fluency in English are also required.
