Monks is seeking a Temporary UX Strategy Director for a six-month contract assignment in San Francisco, United States. In this role, you will lead the strategic direction for a portfolio dedicated to one of the world's most significant digital ecosystems, focusing on ecosystem strategy rather than traditional advertising. Your mission is to define how users and developers experience the web, mobile platforms, and the future of internet standards, ensuring a cohesive and innovative digital footprint.

As a hybrid strategist—part Product Marketer, part UX Designer, and part Brand Storyteller—you will translate complex technical roadmaps, such as privacy sandboxes, browser engines, and AI integrations, into intuitive, human-centric narratives and experiences. Key responsibilities include owning the strategic narrative across digital products, applying a UX lens to brand challenges, strategizing product-to-platform communication, leading major digital-first moments, synthesizing global tech trends into actionable creative briefs, and collaborating closely with Creative Leads, UX Researchers, and Creative Technologists.

The ideal candidate possesses 7–12+ years of experience in digital strategy, UX strategy, or product marketing within an agency or tech-first company. Essential qualifications include deep web fluency, a comprehensive UX strategy toolkit, the ability to simplify complex technical concepts into persuasive narratives, an agile mentality to thrive in fast-paced environments, and excellence in storytelling to build trust with high-level technical stakeholders. Preferred qualifications encompass experience with large-scale developer communities or B2B2C tech platforms, knowledge of the open web philosophy and current trends in data privacy and AI, and a background in UX Research or Service Design.

Monks offers an hourly rate between $85 and $93 USD for this position. The company is committed to fostering an environment where a diversity of perspectives can thrive, proactively designing hiring processes that promote equity and inclusion while mitigating bias. Monks celebrates diversity and is dedicated to building a team that reflects the communities it serves.
