As a Senior Art Director at Monks, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team led by the Group Creative Director. Your role involves bringing innovative ideas to life by executing exceptional work across digital, social, and video platforms, with a strong emphasis on storytelling and design excellence. This position requires a hands-on approach to designing, building, and refining creative assets while contributing to broader campaign narratives and visual systems.

Your primary responsibilities include creating and executing visual concepts across various formats, developing polished layouts and prototypes, and ensuring all deliverables maintain consistency with the client's design system and narrative tone. You will support campaign storytelling through visual development and storyboarding, translate creative briefs into compelling visual narratives, and collaborate closely with Copywriters and Creative Directors to ensure ideas resonate clearly and emotionally. Additionally, you will utilize AI tools daily to support concepting, exploration, and iteration, generating AI visual options efficiently without compromising brand accuracy.

The ideal candidate possesses over five years of experience as a Senior Designer, Lead Designer, or Art Director within agency, advertising, or production environments. A strong portfolio demonstrating both conceptual thinking and hands-on execution across digital, social, and video is essential. Advanced proficiency in Photoshop and Figma, experience working within and evolving established brand systems, and a solid foundation in typography, layout, composition, visual hierarchy, and storytelling are required. Fluency in AI tools within a design workflow and the ability to balance speed and quality in a fast-paced environment are also important.

Monks offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 CAD for this position. The company is committed to fostering an environment where a diversity of perspectives can thrive, proactively designing hiring processes that promote equity and inclusion while mitigating bias. Monks celebrates diversity and is dedicated to building a team that reflects the communities it serves, welcoming and encouraging qualified applicants from all backgrounds who are excited to contribute to its mission.
