Technical Specialist, Exterior Trim

Lucid Motors is seeking a Technical Specialist in Exterior Trim to join our team in Southfield, MI. This role involves designing and developing exterior systems for our luxury electric vehicles, focusing on both styling and functionality. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive attitude and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include leading the packaging, engineering design, release, and launch of exterior trims. The specialist will create innovative exterior systems emphasizing quality, reliability, functionality, mass, and cost efficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential, prioritizing the overall benefit of the vehicle. Additionally, the role involves mentoring junior engineers.

Candidates must have over 8 years of experience in vehicle exterior trim design and development, covering areas such as fascias, side valences, sill trims, underbody aero shields, wheelhouse liners, spoilers, 'frunk'/'froot', and rocker panels. Proficiency in complex CAD modeling, preferably using CATIA V5 or V6, and experience with thermoplastic and thermoset resin materials are required. A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is mandatory; an advanced degree is advantageous.

Lucid Motors offers a competitive salary range of $134,300 to $196,900 annually, along with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and a 401(k) plan. Eligible candidates may also participate in our equity program and/or discretionary annual incentive program.
